If the latex smell bothers you, ensure good ventilation. The smell will fade with use. Due to the nature of the product, some latex may seep through the back of the product, but this is not a defect. The back of the product may transfer color to the floor. Regularly air the product and check for color transfer and stickiness. Take particular care when using on light-colored cushioned flooring.
